colour and imagination, can human beings do without? the ability and longing to create forms and colours touches our soul. my assignment as an artist is to strengthen this soul connection. my concern is with the deeper layers of reality and our experience thereof. when someone is touched on that level, the artwork is a true enrichment, in the non-material sense. therefore an artist, in my eyes, always has an independent task. the commissioner is not immediately king, there can be no question of `you ask, we perform'. still, the commissioner is of royal importance. a painting only comes alive when it is appreciated by someone on an appropriate level. on this basis it turns out to be possible to arrive at deepening, moving commissions which satisfy both commissioner and artist. the input and feed-back of the commissioner provide for inspiration and refinement, and the financial contribution allows realisation. for commissions please also see my conditions. |
